Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 1977 film, *Star Wars: A New Hope*. He is portrayed as a cynical smuggler and pilot of the Millennium Falcon, accompanied by his Wookiee co-pilot, Chewbacca.

In his older years, Han Solo experienced both triumphs and tragedies. After years of being apart from Leia Organa, they reconciled, becoming parents to Ben Solo. However, their relationship was strained by Ben's fall to the dark side and adoption of the Kylo Ren persona.

Though Han tried to help his son, he was ultimately killed by Kylo Ren in *Star Wars: The Force Awakens*. His death profoundly impacted the galaxy and served as a catalyst for the rise of the Resistance against the First Order.
